Escabeces is a rosé wine made by René Barbier, Sara Pérez, Mercè Salvat and Oriol Pérez de Tudela.

Escabeces is a wine made with the Cartoixà Vermell variety, which is the name for Xarel·lo Rojo in the area. This is a historical variety from the Gayá river area, in the province of Tarragona in the town of Vilavella.

Escabeces is a unique wine, not only because of the variety used but also because it has been made as an aged red wine: it is fermented with the skins of the grapes in contact with the must and then aged in barrels and in clay amphorae. Only 5,000 bottles of this unique wine are produced.
